The MEB platform is the modular foundation on which all our EVs are built—with an emphasis on maximizing space, range, comfort, and convenience. The result is a longer wheelbase, shorter overhangs, and a roomier, more functional cabin.
With 1,818 L of cargo space with the rear seats folded down, the ID.4 shows just because it’s electric, doesn’t mean you need to pack light. From ski trips and camping adventures to packing in the kid’s hockey gear, the ID.4’s cargo space delivers the kind of versatility Canada calls for.
Electric Performance
It’s fully electric and full of that iconic Volkswagen feeling. You’ll definitely feel it the second you hit the pedal of your ID.4.
While the acceleration is much quieter than a combustion engine, we can’t promise you won’t break the silence with a few oohs and aahs. Especially as you experience going from zero to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds* with available AWD.
Range anxiety simply isn’t a thing with ID.4. On the road, you can charge 10% to 80% in an estimated 30 minutes. That means a 10-minute charge can add almost 100 km of range on a DC fast-charger. At home with the available Electrify Canada HomeStation™, it can take as little as 7.5 hours to reach full charge on a level 2 residential charger. So just plug in your ID.4 at bedtime, then wake up in the morning ready to go.

The electric-powered ID.4 comes with some serious towing power. With a towing capacity of up to 2,700 lbs for AWD (braked), feel confident it’ll pull what you need, like a small travel trailer for all your camping adventures.
Did we mention that when you get All-Wheel Drive in your ID.4, you’ll get a standard hitch mount for towing as well? Another reason the ID.4 is ready to tow.
As one of the first affordable, all-electric SUVs with available All-Wheel Drive, the ID.4 was made to break new ground. A second electric motor added to its front gives you that extra bit of kick* and traction that’ll show any terrain that electric is the new king.
With the ID.4, VW has returned to its roots with an electric motor at the rear of the vehicle, just like the original Beetle. With power now being directed to the rear, that leaves the front wheels dedicated to steering giving you the perfect combination of confidence and traction. Rear-wheel drive is available with both the 62kWh and 82kWh electric motor options.
Design
The ID.4’s expansive available panoramic glass roof lets light in and provides a sweeping view of the sky. Or, take a break from the sun by activating the electric sunshade with the touch of a button. This stylish feature is available with both the ID.4 Pro and ID.4 AWD Pro.
An electric SUV like the ID.4 needs wheels that are as impressive as its frame. Thankfully the ID.4 comes standard with 19” Drammen wheels that maximize its capabilities. Or you can upgrade to 20” wheels to make a bigger statement on the road. Plus, an alloy-wheel package is available to make your wheels even more eye-catching.
With the ID.4, you’ll get light and then some. An available illuminated light bar stretches between the front headlights, and is paired with a glowing front Volkswagen logo. Plus, with the available lighted rear Volkswagen logo, it’s guaranteed that every passerby will be saying, “Look, an ID.4!”

With standard LED taillights and headlights to match the illuminated door handles, and an integrated LED red light strip for the rear taillight, the ID.4 practically radiates.
The ID.4’s style doesn’t stop with its exterior. It comes with a variety of new, striking interior colours, including the stylish X-Blue. Plus, mélange seats are now available with select colour options, which are stain-repellent and come designed with an ID.4 logo for that extra touch.
Technology
Inside the ID.4, you’ll find an intuitive light bar that runs across the dashboard, which we call the ID. Light. It uses glowing visual cues to telegraph incoming calls, brake warnings, charge status, and more. Think of the ID. Light as the way your ID.4 communicates with you.
Your central hub for your drive. This voice-controlled, standard 12” touchscreen is equipped with smart features like interactive navigation, gesture and voice controls and more—so you can get where you’re going, and stay comfortable along the way.
With Intuitive Start, starting your vehicle doesn’t even require the touch of a button. Your vehicle will sense your presence and “wake up” automatically as soon as you touch the handle, as long as you’re carrying your key fob. Meaning your car is always just a touch away from being ready for the road.
